Piquette - derived from the the French word for "prick" or "prickle" describes the drinks slight fizz. While technically not a wine in itself it is a lower alcohol product utilising the fresh grape skins to produce a product that is textural, aromatic and easy drinking, sometimes being more closely aligned with a sour beer than wine itself.
